Whisk together warm milk, melted butter, eggs, white sugar, pinch of salt, and dry active yeast in a large bowl.
Fold in flour until a dough is formed. Cover with a towel and let rise for about 30 minutes.
Mix together softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla until well combined.
Lightly flour a level surface and roll out dough until its about 1/4 inch thick and rectangular.
Spread filling evenly over the dough. Tightly roll up dough, starting from the long side.
Cut into 1 inch sections with a serrated knife or floss.
Place cinnamon rolls in a greased 9x9 in baking pan or 9" cast iron skillet. Make sure to leave plenty of space between cinnamon rolls since they will expand as they cook.
Bake for 20-30 minutes.
While the cinnamon rolls are baking, cream together icing ingredients
Allow cinnamon rolls too cool for a few minutes before topping with frosting and serving.
